TV to Projection Upgrades.
The great TV vs Projector debate is always heated.
They each have their Pros and Cons, and there is a perception that TV's are the cheaper and easier option for your simulator...
but we crunched the numbers!
On average, you will need FIFTEEN x 65" TV's to produce the same size image as one of our Seamless Surround TruView Screens!
At least FIVE computers running 3 TV's each!
If the average TV setup consists of 5 x 65" TV's, that's only 1/3 of the viewing surface of one NatVIS MaxView Curved Screen.
Front projected and TV display systems all have a degree of parallax (displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight, and is measured by the angle or semi-angle of inclination between those two lines)
The parallax error can only be reduced by increasing the diameter of the screen and setback of the pilots eye-point,
thus TV visual systems will always have a large parallax error making it very difficult to correctly fly procedures/approaches.
We're often asked whether a screen can offer a more immersive experience compared to TV's...
a picture tells a thousand words.
